Dr. Bernard Raskin - Bakersfield Dermatologist

Bernard Raskin, MD

Bernard Raskin, MD, is an expert in Dermatology, Mohs skin cancer surgery, and cosmetic surgery. Dr. Raskin graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in physics. He received his MD degree from the prestigious University of California at Irvine School of Medicine. He then trained in Internal Medicine at the University of California at Irvine and the Long Beach Veterans Administration Hospitals. His Dermatology residency was completed at one of the nation’s premier programs at UCLA.

Dr. Raskin has specialty Board certifications in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology, in Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery by the American Board of Dermatology and in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He serves as a volunteer faculty in the Department of Medicine, Division of Dermatology at UCLA with responsibilities including teaching dermatologic surgery, lasers, and cosmetic dermatology. He holds fellowships in the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Mohs Surgery, and is a member of the L.A.County and California Medical Associations.

Dr. Raskin is also a Qualified Medical Evaluator for the Industrial Medical Council of the State of California. His list of medical accomplishments includes consulting for industry, inventing and developing medical instruments and founding his own company, Surgiguide Products. Throughout his career, Dr. Raskin has been a researcher and has also published scientific articles on liposuction and skin cancer treatment as well as co-authoring chapters in textbooks on cutaneous surgery and laser surgery.

Dr. Raskin’s special interests include Mohs Micrographic Surgery, which is a specialized method for removing skin cancers. He was in the first group of specialists to pass the Mohs Dermatologic Surgery Board Test and achieve Board Certifification in Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery by the American Board of Dermatology. His other area of study is in complex dermatologic diseases and treatment.

Alexa Gozali, DO
Alexa Gozali, DO is a Southern California native and comes to Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Care with unique experience in primary care, urgent care medicine and medical and surgical dermatology. Throughout her career and training, she has developed a passion for medical dermatology, management and diagnosis of skin cancer and chronic skin diseases, acne treatment as well as aesthetic and cosmetic medicine. She strongly values the integration of preventative medicine and disease management to achieve a patient’s healthcare and skincare goals.

Dr. Gozali attended the University of Southern California for her undergraduate degree. She then attended Midwestern University in Arizona for medical school and returned to Southern California to complete her Family Medicine residency at PIH health hospital where she served as chief resident her final year.

Dr. Gozali is an adventurer and outdoor enthusiast at heart. in her free time, She enjoys international travel, cycling, scuba diving, trying new foods, hiking and spending time with her family and friends.

Born and raised in Metro Detroit Michigan, Tonya made the move to the sunshine state in 2020. While living in Michigan she gained experience as a phlebotomist and medical assistant in Dermatology where her passion for medical dermatology grew. She attended Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Sciences in 2016. In 2019, she graduated from The University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio with a Master in Physician Assistant. She strives to provide the best possible care, set expectations, and treatment options that allow her patients to collaborate in their decision making. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
